dc.description.abstract For convenience, the work has been divided into three parts which are more or less self contained. Part I contains a review of the more important methods used in the establishment of a scale of thermal radiation. The second part is concerned with the design and construction of the radiobalance together with notes on previous designs. Part three contains a summary of the experimental work with particular reference to sources of error. In order to make reading easier, details of the experimental work are included at the end in the form of Appendices. en_NZ
