dc.description.abstract A low-noise receiver for the 25 cm. band employing a balanced crystal mixer is described. The theory of noise factor measurements is developed and applied to determine the overall noise factor of the receiver. A noise factor of 9.3 db. has been achieved at the present stage of development. en_NZ
