dc.description.abstract The principles of cloud chamber operation for counter control are discussed. Constructional details and adjustments of a large cloud chamber and the auxiliary apparatus are described. Attention is given to the expansion delay and a calculated value is compared with the experimental values deduced from track widths. The construction of a counter array for detecting stopped particles and a lead plate assembly for use in the chamber is described. en_NZ
