dc.description.abstract Lying within the Waipawa and Haurangi survey districts, the area described in this thesis is bounded on the west by the watershed of the Ruakokopatuna River, and on the east by that of the Awhea River. It comprises some ninety square miles of hill-country lying to the east of the Wairarapa plain. The one small settlement is at the Tuturumuri road junction, 22 miles from the town of Martinborough, which in turn is 44 miles by road from Wellington. en_NZ
