dc.description.abstract The draft of Design for the Sun was released in 1984. The aim of this report was twofold: to assess the impact that Design for the Sun has had upon the field of Passive Solar Design in New Zealand since 1984; and to assess the effectiveness of Design for the Sun as a guide. The first three chapters define what passive solar design is and give an overview of the history of passive solar design in New Zealand and what other design guides have been published specifically for use in New Zealand. Chapters Four and Five describe the research method and the intent behind each question. Finally chapters Six and Seven comprise the result and the conclusions drawn from the results. A sample of the questionnaire and the covering letter is contained in Appendix One. Appendix Two contains the long answers that the respondents wrote in reply to questions 22 & 23 of my questionnaire. en_NZ
