dc.description.abstract This research report describes two methods of creating a photomontage as a means of simulating "reality". It classifies simulation media and describes types of media commonly used. An evaluation of criteria is put forward. The photomontage techniques are outlined with examples of the proposed Wellington Urban Arterial. It is considered that the montage as a means of presenting "reality" is a step closer than rendered drawings or models. The composite of a rendered drawing and a photograph is also considered as a successful representation. Further research in assessing the visual intrusion of the arterial is considered with the photomontages in a presentation format consistent with this research. en_NZ
