dc.description.abstract	This portfolio has been 12 months in the making, over which time many people have guided and supported this project. I would like to specifically acknowledge my supervisors, Jack Body and Michael Norris, whose guidance is so gratefully appreciated. Also John Psathas and Lyell Cresswell, who both gave valuable input. Many thanks also go to the performers, who have already, or are about to, premiere and workshop the music in this portfolio and who have provided such positive and valuable feedback.
