dc.description.abstract This work was undertaken in continuation of a previous series of experiments on distribution in system consisting of water and some non-miscible organic liquid. In these experiments was studied the effect on the distribution ratio of the replacement of increasing amounts of the organic component by some other liquid. The results indicated that the polarity or the various components is an important factor. The following generalizations were adduced from the data obtained and were confirmed by existing data. en_NZ
