dc.description.abstract |
The establishing by Lowry in 1923 of the theory of polarisation of the double bond, formed the basis for the development of the modern theory of halogen addition. This theory of halogen addition has been thoroughly checked, and in recent years investigations have become more specialised, marked attention being payed e.g. to constitutional effects, solvent influence, and catalysts. |
