dc.description.abstract Sulphur nitride has claimed interest for over a hundred years because of its importance in working out a series of S - N compounds analogous to N - O compounds, but little is yet known or the mechanism of its preparation from sulphur chlorides and ammonia. Owing to the complexity of this reaction, the structure of sulphur nitride has been investigated mainly through the reactions and derivatives of the compound itself. en_NZ
