dc.description.abstract The material, comprising 363 specimens, was collected during the summers of 1959 and 1960, by the New Zealand Oceanographic Institute, from 29 stations in the Ross Sea. Fourteen genera are included, and a total of 17 species are described, with a summary of variations and the geographic and bathymetric ranges. Peribolaster powelli nov. sp. is described. Except for 3 species, all have been previously recorded from the Ross Sea and the majority are circumpolar in distribution. Diagnoses to families and southern genera are given. en_NZ
