dc.description.abstract In researching dance, the first sources consulted were prominent New Zealand choreographers, in order to establish the basic outlines of the areas of research, and further information sources. Douglas Wright (through the Royal New Zealand Ballet) indicated the "masters" of choreography: Rudolf Laban, Martha Graham, Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine, and Merce Cunningham. The second stage of dance research was the available literature. The main sources for locating information for the architectural research were School of Architecture staff, and the National Library on-line catalogue. en_NZ
