dc.description.abstract Rugby exchanges between New Zealand and South Africa (1960 - 1981) are analysed here in the context of how attitudes have changed to these exchanges. Attention focusses on the response of the New Zealand public, the international community, the New Zealand Rugby Football Union, and the two dominant political parties of that period (National and Labour), to the growing controversy that has surrounded these exchanges. en_NZ
