dc.description.abstract The following thesis will combine two concepts, both of which have an extensive history of applied and theoretical experimental research. The first is the phenomenon of generalisation and the second, timing. It is the intention to provide a synopsis, rather than a comprehensive overview of both areas in the following introduction. Generalisation is outlined first, followed by two theories of timing and finally within this section, the current research is explored in detail. en_NZ
