dc.description.abstract A description of the development of the VUW two channel photometer is given. The system uses a dual-channel photometer, allowing observations of two closely spaced objects simultaneously. The photometer is controlled by a DEC MICRO/PDP-11 minicomputer, with a custom built interface to the photometer. Use of a computer gives a versatile system, with operating mode dependent mainly on software. Details of the operation of the system and observations of the rapidly oscillating Ap star HR1217 are also given. en_NZ
