dc.description.abstract This report is an investigation into how urban apartment housing is shaped by social, cultural, physical, political and historical conditions in which it is generated. It focuses upon Wellington City, but looks at the sequence of events that often occurred overseas and formulated typologies and stylistic forms that reached New Zealand through various means. Focusing upon Wellington allows an examination of how an Wellington's apartments are a response to typical housing models and how they have been shaped by the unique context. en_NZ
