Landscape design: considerations for urban housing developments

Abstract

Urban Housing developments are becoming more common in our cities in response to the increasing demand for city housing. In these developments it is important that landscape design be considered with equal importance to the design of dwellings so that pleasant outdoor spaces are available as an extension of personal living areas. Compiled in this report are some important design considerations and examples of N.Z. landscaping and building layout, included as illustrations to demonstrate the validity and application of the design considerations.
