dc.description.abstract This report investigates the usefulness of perspective drawing in predicting visual and perceptual aspects of the unbuilt environment. The research is based on the considered merits of perspective drawing as a media for representing three dimensions on a two dimensional surface. A group of Architects and a group of non-Architects acted as respondents in order to establish the degree of consensus between the architecturally educated and the architecturally not so educated. An experimental method was developed by which examination of differences in perception of the two groups of respondents could be made. Interviews of ten Architects and ten non-Architects were conducted where responses were obtained to prepared questions and certain stimulus material which included photographs and drawings of buildings. Results were collated and analysed and conclusions drawn in relation to the observed responses and the effectiveness of aspects of the research method. en_NZ
