dc.description.abstract Autocad is a computer aided draughting package (CAD) designed for use on micro computers. It is inherently flexible and can therefore be used in a great many applications, architectural draughting being one such use. The Autocad package itself contains a basic system that allows for customization on almost any level. For architectural applications the basic package can prove rather cumbersome and indeed the few benefits that are gained, tend to be overshadowed by loss of productive hours looking for lost drawings and correcting mistakes, or by lack of specialised commands and sequences for architectural applications. en_NZ
