dc.description.abstract This report presents a step by step guide designed to assist organisations which are thinking of establishing a residential outdoor education centre. The report has been divided into four parts: Establishing a need, Investigating possible proposals, Developing the proposal in detail, Finalising development. These are then broken into tasks, which offer advice, information, sources and ideas, largely through the use of statements and questions. There has been considerable emphasis laid on constantly reassessing the decision to proceed, so that much of the material is concerned with establishing that a real need exists. en_NZ
