dc.description.abstract The soils of the south-eastern part of Egmont National Park are mapped, described and discussed. Twelve soil types and three soil phases have been recognised and of these four are developed on the Tahurangi ash and five on the Burrell lapilli. Chemical analyses of the soils on volcanic ash are given. Isopach maps for the Tahurangi ash and Burrell lapilli are presented and a new member, Kapuni lapilli is mapped and described. en_NZ
