dc.description.abstract The district covered by this survey is situated in the south-western part of the Wellington Province, between the coastal towns of Plimmerton to the south and Paekakariki to the north. The area is contained in the Paekakariki Sheet (N 160/6) of the Lands and Survey Department's 1 : 25000 series of maps * . Apart from the natural coastal boundary to the west, the area is delineated on the Hutt Sheet (N 160, 1 : 63360) by grid co-ordinates 160000 N in the north, 145000 N in the south and 255000 E in the east, a total area of approximately 46 square miles, (Fig. 1). en_NZ
