In the past, computer security has been more an afterthought than an issue, but today with espionage and other information attacks becoming increasingly common, its importance is slowly being realised. This work summarises the relevant areas of network security and cryptology and develops a design for a portable and transparent network security system that can be applied to a wide range of situations or environments. A test implementation demonstrates the transparency and flexibility of the system. |
