dc.description.abstract |
The solid state infrared spectrum of spiropentane is given. A new assignment of the wavenumbers of the normal modes of vibration is derived from the infrared and Raman spectra. A force field is obtained from this, using a force field derived from cyclopropane as a first approximation.
The assignment of some normal modes needs further confirmation, and consequently some parts of the force field are better established than others. |
