dc.description.abstract |
1. The literature on oxidation-reduction reactions has been reviewed.
2. The kinetics of the oxidation of vanadium(III) by iron(III), in perchloric acid, have been studied at different hydrogen-ion concentrations
3. The thermodynamic values for the vanadium(III)-iron(III) system in perchloric acid have been calculated.
4. The catalysis of the oxidation of vanadium(III) by iron(III) by anions has been studied.
5. On the basis of the experimental results observed, a direct simple electron transfer has been eliminated, and an alternative mechanism proposed. |
