dc.description.abstract Carboxy Alkyl Cysteines This group of compounds represent some of the more unusual sulphur- containing amino acids that have been isolated from natural sources under both normal and pathological conditions. The form of nomenclature used to define these compounds, refers to cysteine as the common root of all compounds of this type. The difference between members of the group is then in the carboxy alkyl moiety which may be substituted for the sulphydryl hydrogen of cysteine. en_NZ
